ficonTEC offers various system configurations for the stacking of laser diode bars for facet coating and unstacking after coating, ranging from an efficient manual tabletop setup to a high-speed fully automated system. With the computerized visual device inspection options laser bar manufacturing achieves a new high level. Systems may be delivered with custom stacking frames to accommodate most laser bar designs.
The SL500 is a system for manual stacking and aligning of laser diode bars for the facet coating process. Based on the stacking principle of the automated ficonTEC SL2000(i) system, it offers a customized and field-proven stacking fixture design. Carriers are also available that have been designed for the customers' coating system and hold up to eight stacking fixtures. Typical alignment accuracy within the stack is +/- 2 µm from facet to facet. The system comes complete with a standard microscope for observation during the stacking and unstacking process. Optionally, the system can also be equipped with a camera system. |
ficonTEC offers a unique system for the automated stacking and unstacking of laser diode bars with its SL2000(i). The system picks bars from BlueTape, GelPaks or customized trays and places them into the stacking fixture with an accuracy of +/- 1µm from bar to bar. The system can handle any combination of laser bars and spacers (dummies) and can generate flush or staggered stacks. The stacking fixture is closed and locked after the stack is completed, securing the stack for handling and coating. The stacking fixture is loaded to the system for unstacking after the coating process. The SL2000(i) system can optionally be equipped with a fully automated visual device inspection. Inspection of the P-side, N-side and facets is available. The bars will sorted in the designated GelPaks or WafflePaks based on the inspection results and the system then creates labels for those packs. |
