Q1 2021 – Staying in touch

This time last year 'being online' was simply a normal aspect of one’s everyday, both on a personal and on a work level. Now, the new reality is that far more has transitioned to this mode of communication, and of doing business, than anyone could have imagined. Working from home is now, in some countries, the only way to 'go to work', and there are very few real trade events that still take place.

Fortunately, the tools are now being put into place to effect a (albeit slow) return to 'normal'. In the meantime, many of those within industry still face a need to communicate innovative developments – ficonTEC is no different here. Obviously, we can’t take this innovation to our audiences by exhibiting at photonic events around the globe. So instead, we are continuing our series of short, guilt-free webinars. You will also find us taking part in upcoming virtual events.

Continuation of our Mini-Webinar Series through 2021

Originally conceived as an extension to our ficonTEC Insider Blog channel, we will now be continuing with our successful webinar series through 2021.

The series comprises a number of bite-sized webinars on a full spectrum of topics covering the product lines, technologies and capabilities, as well as important and trending topics such as 5G communications, lidar and quantum technology. We try to keep these webinars short so that we can all get back to work, and we round up each with a Q&A session, where participants are free to ask questions.

Previous webinars, dates for future topics and upcoming topics are freely visible on the webinar page, as are two freely viewable discussions with CEO Torsten Vahrenkamp (Kick-off Q4 2021 and Kick-off 2021). Those interested in accessing all previous and future webinars are invited to register.

ficonTEC at EPIC’s Photonics+ Event

EPIC has helped put together a new, larger virtual event to help make up for the real events that continue to disappear from our calendars. Photonics+ will take place next week, February 17-18, from 1pm to 6pm CET on both days.

This new, efficient networking event is designed to bring stakeholders from across the whole of the photonics industry together with relevant end-users, so that understanding of the needs as well as the component and service supply can actually match those required. ficonTEC will present at this event and additionally be visible at the exhibition with members of the Sales team.

Normal visitor entry fee for Photonics+ is €49. However, as one of our loyal Newsletter recipients, you can simply request a free VIP voucher from ficonTEC directly.

The success of this event will be determined by what we *all* put into it, so please sign up and visit the presentations and exhibitors next week. We hope to see you there …

ficonTEC at Photonics West Digital Marketplace 2021

‘As regular as any other yearly celebration, SPIE’s  Photonics West will (should!) be again taking place in the Moscone Center in San Francisco CA/USA … ‘

Well, that was the plan, and for that there was (at the end of 2020) still hope. But SPIE has made the only decision still available and the event will now be 100% virtual – trying to hybridize this would have been a monumental (and as yet untried) task, and that may well have been a logistical disaster.

Our new (real) booth is thus in storage. Instead, visitors to the Photonics West 2021 Digital Marketplace will see some sort of as yet undisclosed digital/virtual facade / micro-site / booth or combination of all of those. New is the fact that the 'exhibition' will be open for as long as the conference itself – March 6-11. We hope to keep you posted of developments and our booth manning strategy, and we will be sending out reminders. 

So please swing back to our website for regular updates, and/or follow us on LinkedIN and Twitter, and please do still plan on visiting us at this event. If you can make it, feel free to speak to the team about your requirements – we will be available to discuss your needs.
