R&D – OptiK-Net to develop direct flexprint technology for cost-effective integration of optical waveguides and electronics

ficonTEC has entered into a collaboration tasked with the development of flex print technology for polymer-based optical waveguides for optical communications networks, and the application of the approach for the production of integrated electro-optical PDB-flexprint components for short-reach networks.

The Optik-Net project (available in German only) is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education & Research ( in German, the BMBF ) and comprises nine different leading organizations located in Germany and Switzerland. Further information is available here and here (both available in German only).
